Ronald works for MEDUCA (Ministerio de Educación de Panamá), the Panamanian Ministry of Education, as the Comarca Ngäbe-Buglé Regional Coordinator for MEDUCA’s school gardens program. In this capacity, he travels around the Comarca Ngäbe-Bugle bringing resources and knowledge sharing to the many diverse and distant schools across the mountainous terrain. He works hand-in-hand with students and faculty at these schools to better develop their school gardens which often serve as a critical food resource for the students’ nutrition at school. Ronald earned his Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Panamá in Chiriqui in agronomic engineering.
Ronald has been volunteering informally with Few for Change since its inception providing invaluable first-hand advice as a Ngäbe young professional who successfully navigated the complicated Panamanian university system. Ronald has frequently been called upon to speak at our annual scholarship ceremonies and is now serving in a formal role on FFC’s Advisory Board.
