Katie Clay
Katie is currently the President of Few for Change, overseeing strategy and working with Few for Change volunteers in the U.S. and Panama to manage organizational operations and ensure that Few for Change is focused on the priorities of its students and their communities.
In her day job, Katie is a Senior Consultant at Health Management Associates in New York. She previously oversaw a Medicaid program at Hudson River HealthCare, a Federally Qualified Health Center in the Hudson Valley and Long Island, NY. Katie initially began her career at Hudson River HealthCare as an Americorps volunteer, coordinating Spanish speaking programming at one of the health center sites.
Katie joined the board of Few for Change in 2009 after returning from a semester in Panama through the School for International Training. Katie did not get to visit the Comarca Ngäbe-Buglé during her semester in Panama, but did an Independent Study Project on educational access in a small rural community called Loma Bonita. Her study solidified her belief that education is crucial for community empowerment, and her connection to this community and to Panama sparked her desire to get involved in Few for Change. She has since visited the Comarca many times through her work with Few for Change and has gotten to know the generosity and kindness of the Ngäbe people. Katie became President of Few for Change in 2014.
Katie is a graduate of Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish.
